6/16/14

Well, this week was pretty good. I completed 6 months. That is absolutely crazy and I still feel like I left yesterday.

We had zone conference this week. Our president showed us a Mormon message. Its called "Gracias a El" I think it exists in English... But it is beautiful and I encourage everyone to look it up and share it! Its beautiful. Then Hermana J talked about how we are like the 2000 stripling warriors and how she doesn´t want to see any of us get "left behind." It was awesome. Sometimes I think we forget the power we have been given at this time. I know I do sometimes. Its amazing to be set apart from the world. To be in the world, but not of it. I wish it could always be like this.

My poor companion got injured this week and has been in lots of pain, but she keeps on enduring. She is awesome. Yesterday she was supposed to have a doctors appointment. The taxi we took to the hospital, we contacted the driver. He knew someone in our ward and remembered how he "had something special." So, we talked to him more and hopefully the missionaries in his area will visit him! When we got to the doctor, we found out he couldn´t make it in to the office today. At first we were a little upset, inside of course, but then we took another taxi home. This man, he had a book of Mormon and had been reading it. he said he really liked it and the Elders that gave it to him had written in the back how to pray, and he was praying everyday. He talked about how he isn´t sure what church is true, but he´s beginning to think that this is. It is amazing how people are put in our paths. We, as members, need to always be looking for those he has given us. Give the missionaries your referrals. They needed them. this work is hastening on and you´re a part of it.

This morning we got to go to the temple! I love that place. It is truly the house of the Lord. There is no better place to be. It is wonderful and I encourage everyone to go, if you can, and if you cant, PREPARE! Because there is no place more special.

This is the true church. I know it and I am so grateful to help people learn about it everyday. I love you all and hope all is well!!!!

6/9/14

Hola! Como estan? Espero todo esta bien.

Well, this week we worked like crazy! It was awesome! I love my new companion and her enthusiasm. We are working harder than ever and trying to follow every prompting and to live worthy of the spirit. Because thats the only way things will get done. Because it isn´t the work of men, its the work of God and he cant be stopped. How cool is that?

Saturday we had our first ward activity! We FINALLY got them to have one. And it was a blast! They played a lot of sports and other fun games. Unfortunatley, we couldnt play the sports bacause its a rule, but we could play the other little games. The kids (and adults shhhh) LOVED playing Ninja. Practically the entire ward played. We also played this game where you had to pass a hula hoop while holding hands. That was exciting to try in a skirt. The children thought we were the coolest missionaries. I love this ward.

Thursday night, we got a call we were going to have divisions again. But it was my companion, not me for once. She said we were having them the next morning. My poor companion was in a panic because she´d been here a week. But she didnt get lost and I think things went well. I went to the other area, and the sister I was with had a small break down. words of comfort (in spanish) were flying out of my mouth. It was definately the gift of tongues. After, she kept thanking me and saying it was what she needed. The next morning she didnt want me to leave. It was sad. I am so grateful for the gifts I have been blessed with, and for the opportunity to share them.

One day, we felt like we should visit this one less active lady. When we got there, we were sure she was drunk. (She wasnt, just heavily medicated). But we were talking to her, and we told her one of the members had passed away. She went into Hysterics. And I gave her a hug and she just went limp. It was scary. Finally we got her calmed down with some lovely inspired scriptures and prayer.

The Lords hand is in everything. Look for it in your lives. I know this is the true church and I am so grateful to be able to testify of it every single day. It is such a great blessing. I love you all and hope all is well. But more importantly, GOD LOVES YOU!!!! What more do you need?

6/2/14

I cant think of anything super exciting this week. OH! Monica, from my other area got baptized on Saturday and she wanted me to be there! So, I sort of had a baptism. She is wonderful and was so excited. It went so well.

Life is wonderful. My new companion is from LA California. I didnt think I would ever have an american companion, but I do! She is wonderful. I am so very very blessed to get to work with her. We have had lots of adventures together and lots of firsts. Like riding in a mustang. I never thought that would have happened in mexico. Also, she is a lot like me. Her dad passed away. I love teaching the plan of salvation with her because it is so powerful together! We have only been companions for a short time, but we are already best friends.

Life is great here in Mexico. It is SUPER hot, and getting hotter everyday. My companion thinks its cool, because her last area was 63 C. Thats like 145 F!!!!! I'm grateful. I also kinda want to go to that area because she lost 30 lbs there. I think that could be nice. I'm in the same area as last transfer, but now I'm in charge (and the spirit.) Its really exciting.

Last night, our dinner appointment wasn´t home when we got to her house, so we went to our house and ate what we could find. So, we had PB & J, popcorn, peaches and crackers for dinner. Then she called and asked where we were. So, we went and ate with her. Then we taught her. It was wonderful. She said " You two are so unified. You´re going to do wonderful things together." It was nice.

I really cant think of a lot. Time is flying so very very fast. I feel like I just wrote yesterday. Sign of the times right? If you´re wondering, yes, there are still shootings happening. Also, the other day, someone chopped someones head off. Its always an adventure! But I know the Lord is protecting us! Love you all and hope you have a great week studying Preach my Gospel!!
