4/7/14

I'm starting with the past two days. Conference was amazing! Especially since I got to listen in English! :D Blessings people. Everyone is going to go buy a copy of Preach my Gospel and study it and tell me what they´re learning right?!? Because an apostle of God said to. And we want to follow him. There were amazing talks. How great is it that we have the opportunity to listen to a prophet in these latter days? It is the coolest thing. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet and he leads and guides this church along with all the other apostle and general authorities. Don't forget the lessons you learned from conference and make sure to apply them in your life!

The other day we were teaching a lesson to one of the recent converts. Her mom is less active. After we had finished the lesson, my companion asked her mom a very simple, but inspired question. She asked what she needed help with. Not our usual question of if we can help, but WHAT. She burst into tears and was talking about how she was struggling to take care of her father and her 4 children, and her work and she just felt so overwhelmed and stressed. We proceeded to have a marvelous lesson about the atonement and how Christ knows all she is going through and how he can help. We talked about how your trials are necessary to help shape your life and become the person God wants. It was marvelous. I can't even describe the spirit that was there. It was just amazing.

Another inactive we had started to visit is our relief society presidents husband. He hasn´t been active in the church for almost 40 years. When we first started visiting him, he told us to not waste our precious time on him. He wasn´t of importance. But we have continued to visit him. Last night, we were sharing things we learned from conference. After our lesson, he said we were the first people he has ever thought of in the church as sisters. Everyone else is a "Step" sibling. He said no one has ever cared about him like we have, the elders, the bishop, no one. It was so touching and sad at the same time. People just need to know they are loved. Seriously. That would solve so many of the worlds problems. SO MANY. Everyone is a child of God and they need to be treated as such. So, tell people you love them and SHOW IT. Its really not that hard. Just try a little harder and God will help you. I know it. He is the only way we can do anything, so trust in him. I love you all and hope you have a fantastic week!
